Bill's a down to earth Yorkshireman who has worked in IT for over 25 years and has held every IT role from a developer through to an IT Manager. He has an accounting background and a wide experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail, insurance and distribution. And he used to walk 10 miles to work, barefoot, in the snow, uphill in both directions.
Brian has worked in IT for over 20 years and has vast experience of software design and development over a wide variety of industries including agri-business and finance. His technical know-how in the LANSA toolset is second to none and his analytical and problem solving abilities are first class. He is a keen soccer follower and is as passionate about sport as he is about IT.
Dom is a gifted software developer, always willing to take on a new challenge. He is very particular about the look and feel of the software he produces and will refuses to release any software that does not meet his own exacting standards. He has a number of years’ experience with the full LANSA toolset, many scripting languages, and the Aeropress coffee maker.
Hadley has a plethora of experience of building business applications. He’s a technical guy with a passion for seeking out poor coding practices and sloppy test coverage on software projects. He also enjoys project management and problem solving for clients, and is the go-to guy if you need hardware purchasing advice. He claims his hobbies include camping, cycling and running, but we know there’s gaming & wine-tasting in there also.
Jason’s a .NET web developer as well as a SQL Server expert who has never written a single cursor in his life; a source of considerable pride and constant lecturing. He drives a manly Proton that was assembled by a crack team of Malaysian ninjas, and doing his bit to further the stereotype, plays RPGs with actual dice.
John performs a variety of roles for Lateral including software design and development, database administration and change management. He has been in the IT industry for over 20 years and has never lost his enthusiasm and attention to detail. He starts work ridiculously early even though he goes surfing first and cycles in.
Lewis has an extensive background in building & integrating in-house reporting & financial systems for organisations in Singapore and Malaysia. He’s one of the few Android adherents in the office, making for some interesting discussions with the iOS majority. Perhaps we’re all just jealous he has a bigger phone.
Paul’s interning with us for the couple of months in between his first & second weddings (there’s an interesting story behind that). He arrived fresh-faced and enthusiastic, head full of the useless knowledge that universities pump into their unsuspecting Computer Science students. He teams up with Lewis in the Android camp, and has a similarly oversized phone.
Richard is a Minnesotan who somehow ended up in Western Australia cooking steak. He’s now our resident mobile development expert, and constantly struggles with the inner turmoil of being both an Apple and Google fanboy. He likes correcting our English because we speak it wrong here.
Sam spent 12 years building in-house business systems on the Microsoft development stack, but he’s also been a closet Mac developer since Apple was still beleaguered. Now he has an overpriced Apple monitor on his desk and a picture of Steve Jobs on his wall.
Teddy is our latest Korean import (excluding Lewis’s phone), with a background in enterprise development in Java & .NET. He’s an enthusiastic soccer player who seems very fit, which the rest of us find quite depressing.
Tienie is a giant South African who came to Australia via London and probably stomped on a few small villages on the way. He’s a .NET applications developer with considerable web expertise and impeccable deportment.
Tom is a very experienced IT professional with over 20 years in the industry. One of Lateral’s longest serving consultants, he is always prepared to help and mentor his colleagues. What Tom does not know about LANSA is not worth knowing. He is always willing to accept a challenge and is the go to man if something new or unexpected comes along.
Witold has been an Australian citizen for more than 20 years but has never lost his Polish accent. He has over 20 years’ experience in IT spent mainly on the IBM mid-range platform using LANSA and Synon. He’s still an enthusiastic Dockers supporter despite the constant disappointment.
Our fearless leader has worked in many IT roles across Australia, Europe, Asia and Africa, mostly focusing on strategy and project management. Drawing on his extensive experience in a range of projects and organisations, he knows how (and how not) to use IT to deliver the best results. He’s one of those crazed people for whom computers are both a hobby and a career, and genuinely believes they’re changing the world for the better.
A native of Melbourne, Tommy now splits his time between Australia’s east & west coasts in his role as National Business Development Manager. He has extensive experience in various industries and believes in making life easier for clients, and making them look good. He loves large, expensive cars and typing notes into his iPad during meetings.
Danny is a Curtin accounting graduate who’s responsible for QA on post-sales internal processes and handles client reporting and communication. He also manages most of our invoicing and timesheets. He consumes copious quantities of Red Bull but is sadly yet to sprout wings.
We always have an eye out for talented, passionate software developers to join our team. We offer a friendly, relaxed working environment with an emphasis on maintaining a good work-life balance. If you’d like to apply, please send your CV to resumes@lateral.com.au.
